Important Update Ref Group Day Out

We have been monitoring the weather forecasts and it looks certain to be a wet day!

We have taken the decision to change our plans and have a shorter day (particularly with the youngest Scouts in mind)!

Please drop off as planned at 10am. Everyone will need waterproofs and wellies. Bring lunch.
We will adapt our morning plans, but getting wet and muddy will be part if the fun!!

Please come at 1pm (earlier then planned).
Depending on how wet we all are we could just head straight home, or we could stay for lunch and campfire.

See you at 10am.

Hilton Scout Group โ€“ Volunteers Needed

Evening all,

Hilton Scout Group is currently looking for some additional support, and weโ€™re hoping a few members of our community might be able to help. We have several โ€œbehind the scenesโ€ volunteer vacancies at group level, including:

  • Group Chair
  • Group Secretary
  • Hut Secretary

Your Scout should have brought home a card about these roles a couple of weeks ago. If it didnโ€™t quite make it back, weโ€™ve attached a PDF copy to this post. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in helping in one of these roles, please contact Alister at alister@poulter.com.

Scout Troop Leadership โ€“ Volunteers Needed

Within the Scout Troop itself, we are also looking for extra leaders. Sadly, we will soon be losing Dan Bowles, who many of you will know. Dan came through Hilton scout troop as a young person when I first started 18 years ago, returned as a leader after university, and has been a huge part of our team ever since. Dan is moving to Scotland for work, and as much as weโ€™d love to keep him, thatโ€™s not exactly a Mondayโ€‘night commute.

Will Bale, who followed a similar path to Dan through the troop, is also finding it increasingly difficult to attend regularly due to work commitments.

This means that Adam and I are now looking for one or two additional leaders to join us and help keep the troop running smoothly.

I canโ€™t overstate how rewarding the role is. Adam and I have been doing this for nearly 18 years each, and the fact weโ€™re still here says everything about how enjoyable and meaningful it is.

If you would be interested or know someone who might be please get in touch with us at Hilton.scouts@gmail.com.

Thank you for your continued support of Hilton Scouts.

Wide games tonight

All, as per the program we will be at Drum Hill Scout camp tonight for an evening of wide games.

The scouts will need dropping off at the normal time of 7:30 and collecting at 9:00pm from the main Drum Hill car park.

Please can you make sure your scout is dressed for the weather (uniform is not required) we will be out all evening with no shelter so waterproof jacket and sturdy footware may be a good plan. We also suggest the scouts bring a torch and a drink.

Please do not leave your scouts at drum hill until you see one of our leaders stood by the main camp sign in the car park. We have arrived before to find scouts dropped and left before we have arrived.

We look forward to seeing you tonight.
