Return to Scouting in 2021

After a different 2020 for scouting, we were hoping to return to face-to-face meetings as of the 11th of January.

Unfortunately, on the 30th December, we received guidance from the district to advise us that due to the current COVID Tier level, Derbyshire Scouts will move to Readiness Level RED.

This unfortunately means that no face-to-face Scouting can take place until further notice. We will keep you updated with regards to any change to this.

We will be discussing some activities, which the scouts can look at completing at home this week and will look to upload these suggestions ASAP.

We also have a district wide challenge badge that all scouts are welcome to participate in and will receive the badge on completion. This is called the Chilly challenge badge.

To complete the challenge badge, the scouts must camp outside over night for one night during the month of January. Obviously this year it will have to be in your garden and can be in a tent, a shed, greenhouse or any other outdoor building.

If you wish to take part we ask that you drop an email to Hilton.scouts@gmail.com to let us know you will be taking part in the challenge and then email us a photo of them in their outside location enjoying their night outside. Parents and siblings are also welcome to join in the challenge.

We will keep our fingers crossed that face-to -face meetings will be able to commence again as soon as possible. In the meantime, we wish you and your families a Happy New Year.

Please can we request that you still pay your Spring term subs of £30. We appreciate that currently we are unable to meet face-to-face but we hope this changes soon. This will help cover HQ costs which we are due to pay our contribution towards in April.
