Scouting update due to England moving into lockdown as of Thursday.

Evening all,

Today we have received information from the Scout Association that the National Youth Agency (NYA) has now issued guidance regarding the implications of the impending lockdown in England from Thursday and how this will effect youth sector activity. Unfortunately, this guidance states Scouts and all other youth activities will move to Red readiness level from the current level of Amber.

This decision by the Government means that unfortunately there can be no face-to-face activity with young people or adult volunteers until further notice. We hope this will only stay in place until the start of December but we will have to wait and see if the lockdown is successful in reducing the spread of COVID 19 and the government will ease the lockdown and we move back to amber readiness level.

We currently have a program planned up to December, which includes face to face meetings. We will be modifying this over the next few days to enable the Scouts to continue to work towards the creative challenge badge over the forthcoming weeks from home. We will be adding a subsequent blog shortly detailing the modified activities and program over the next four weeks along with task sheets to guide the scouts through the activities.
